Axel's take: 8.6/10
A strong Glacier base with spacious condos, good recreation and some uneven upkeep. A comfortable golf-and-condo resort with hotel rooms, rather than a luxury retreat, scored for what it is.
Meadow Lake is a comfortable golf-and-condo resort, not a polished luxury hotel, and it's a strong pick for families exploring Glacier's west side. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean accommodations, helpful staff and attractive grounds; Booking.com also scores cleanliness highly. The larger condos make longer stays practical, with kitchens and laundry, while pools, golf and an adult hot tub give you reasons to linger after sightseeing.
Choose the accommodation carefully: hotel rooms and smaller studios aren't equivalent to full condos. Some recent Tripadvisor guests describe tired furnishings, maintenance issues and noise between units, despite the resort's reported 2025 bed and Wi-Fi upgrades. Guests also report that the steam room has been removed. We'd skip it for sleek luxury or a walkable town-center stay; a car makes this spread-out base much easier.
-
Best for: Families wanting a full condo; Glacier west-side road trips; Golfers who want on-site recreation
-
Watch out for: Room types differ substantially; Some dated units and occasional neighbor noise; Steam room reportedly removed
-
Location: A driving base on Columbia Falls' western edge, better suited to west-side Glacier trips than east-side excursions.
-
Rooms: Full condos offer useful space and kitchen facilities; smaller units differ, and some guests report aging furnishings.
-
Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings across Booking.com and Expedia outweigh a handful of recent housekeeping complaints.
-
Service: Usually praised as friendly and helpful, with occasional complaints about problem resolution.
-
Amenities: Golf, indoor and seasonal outdoor pools, restaurant, gym, adult hot tub and dry sauna; don't count on a steam room.
-
Fees and surprises: Parking is free; airport/train shuttles require 48 hours' notice, checkout is 10 a.m., and cribs or extra beds cost extra.
