The Forks puts the market, riverfront public spaces, Canadian Museum for Human Rights and Children’s Museum together in one easy introduction to Winnipeg. Broadway offers a more conventional downtown setting, with the market reached on foot rather than immediately outside. This is my first choice for families, couples and visitors who want sightseeing without organizing every outing.

- Skip it if
- Late-night bar-hopping is the main event; You expect every Broadway address to overlook the rivers
- Getting around
- Walk to the museums and market; D12/D13 link The Forks directly with YWG, while Broadway has additional bus connections.
- After dark
- The Common supports an evening out; expect a calmer return along Broadway than around downtown’s late venues.
- Where to look
- Forks Market Road. Stay around the market for an easy, pedestrian-friendly introduction to the riverfront; especially useful for first-timers and families.Broadway at Main Street. Choose the station end of Broadway for rail arrivals and a walking connection through to The Forks.
