#3 of 5 hotels in Downtown & the Exchange District by Axel's take. Downtown & the Exchange District is #1 of 8 places to stay in Winnipeg. The best hotels in Downtown & the Exchange District, ranked · Where to stay in Winnipeg

Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong downtown choice for events, with welcoming staff and some aging finishes. A full-service 4-star downtown convention hotel, scored for what it is.

Delta Winnipeg is a full-service 4-star downtown hotel we'd pick for conventions, Jets games and straightforward comfort rather than luxury. The indoor walkway connections are especially useful in winter. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff, while the indoor pool makes this a practical family option too.

The trade-off is an older property whose finishes aren't consistently fresh: some recent guests flag tired carpets and rooms needing updates, despite strong overall condition ratings. Parking costs extra, and Marriott lists a low garage clearance, so drivers of larger vehicles should arrange alternatives. The outdoor Blu Deck pool is currently closed for the season; the indoor pool and whirlpool remain listed. We'd skip it if fresh design or a boutique atmosphere matters more than convenience.

  • Best for: Convention attendees; Jets fans and concertgoers; Families wanting an indoor pool

  • Watch out for: Some tired room finishes; Paid parking and low garage clearance; Outdoor pool closed for the season

  • Location: Central downtown base with indoor walkway access to convention facilities and Canada Life Centre.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable and spacious; some guests report aging carpets and finishes.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff attract substantially more praise than criticism.

  • Amenities: Indoor pool, whirlpool, gym and dining options; outdoor Blu Deck pool currently closed for the season.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and pet cleaning cost extra; Marriott lists garage clearance at 1.8 meters.
