Questions families ask
Should we book two queens or two doubles?
Two queens give each pair more sleeping width than two doubles. Most rooms here use queens, even where a general description says doubles. Ibis Bay genuinely has two doubles and only 190 square feet. Santa Maria offers two kings in separate bedrooms; Windward Pointe has a king and queen, so the children share the queen unless using the sofa.
Can we add a crib or rollaway so the children do not share?
Do not count on a rollaway: most of these hotels either prohibit them or leave availability unclear. Hilton Garden Inn needs room-specific confirmation. Hampton Inn and Oceans Edge list free cribs on request, while Windward Pointe offers play yards subject to availability. Confirm whether a crib fits your exact category and whether it affects the occupancy limit.
How much more does a room for four cost?
There is no consistent premium. Among hotels with a direct comparison, Windward Pointe, Hilton Garden Inn and Santa Maria show smaller increases over their cheapest two-person rooms than Fitch Lodge. Across hotels, Ibis Bay is the lowest-cost option here. Compare the total for both adults and both children, including resort or amenity charges, parking and any age-based supplements.
Which Key West neighborhood works best without a car?
Mallory Square and the Historic Seaport are the strongest choices for walking to Old Town sights: Hyatt Centric and Fitch Lodge fit that plan. Santa Maria is near quieter southern Duval Street. New Town, the airport area and Stock Island generally require transportation. Several hotels offer shuttles, but check schedules and return capacity rather than assuming complete flexibility.
Which rooms give us separation without booking two rooms?
Santa Maria's two-bedroom flat gives you two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen and laundry within one suite. Windward Pointe's Two Bedroom Villa also has separate bedrooms, two bathrooms and laundry. The Laureate's two-queen suite separates the bedroom from the living room, but everyone using the queen beds still sleeps in the same bedroom.
