Stay around Fountain Square for the most straightforward Cincinnati introduction: downtown restaurants, theaters and the riverfront fit together on foot, while the free Connector links you with Over-the-Rhine. The Banks puts baseball, football and Smale Riverfront Park at the southern end of the neighborhood. The convention center, now First Financial Center, reopened in January 2026.

- Walk downtown and the riverfront; use the free Connector for OTR and Metro buses from Government Square; CVG has direct TANK 2X Airporter service downtown, not rail.
- After dark
- The Banks gets party-heavy, especially around games and concerts; don't expect every downtown block to share that atmosphere.

Stay here for baseball, sports bars and riverfront walks rather than distance from the game-day crowds.
