8.1/10
A characterful Cuba Street base, best if you travel light and tolerate some noise.
Naumi Studio Wellington is a heritage 4-star boutique hotel whose strengths are personality, location and friendly service rather than spacious rooms. It's a strong pick for a short city break: Cuba Street's cafés and restaurants are outside, and Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise comfortable beds, helpful staff and colourful interiors. Cleanliness ratings are strong, making this more than a pretty lobby.
The compromises are real: entry-level Zing rooms are just 14 square metres, standard rooms lack air conditioning, and guests report street and corridor noise. Expedia also currently flags construction at a neighbouring building, with possible noise disturbance; confirm its status before booking. Parking is paid and limited, and breakfast costs extra unless included. We'd skip standard rooms if you sleep hot, need suitcase space or want dependable quiet.
