#3 of 7 hotels in Aldea Zamá by Axel's take. Aldea Zamá is #2 of 7 places to stay in Tulum. The best hotels in Aldea Zamá, ranked · Where to stay in Tulum
Axel's take: 8.3/10
Stylish rooms and a lovely rooftop pool, best enjoyed with your own transport. a design-led 4-star aparthotel in inland Aldea Zama, scored for what it is.
Xambé is a design-led 4-star aparthotel in Aldea Zama, not a full-service beach resort. It's a strong pick for travelers who want attractive, spacious accommodation and don't mind organizing their own outings. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests praise the decor, comfortable beds and rooftop pool overlooking the trees; recent Expedia reviews reinforce the positive picture on cleanliness and helpful staff. Apartment categories add equipped kitchens, making these the sensible choice for self-catering.
The trade-off is convenience: the beach isn't on your doorstep, and having a car makes this base easier. A May 2026 Expedia guest specifically reports no food or drink service, so don't rely on the catalog's restaurant listing. Sound between rooms also crops up in reviews. We'd skip it for a car-free beach holiday or if you expect resort-style dining and consistently hushed rooms.
-
Best for: couples with a rental car; self-catering stays in apartment categories; travelers prioritizing design and pool time
-
Watch out for: inland location; transport strongly recommended; no food or drink service reported recently; sound can carry between rooms
-
Location: An inland Aldea Zama base rather than a beachfront stay; guests repeatedly recommend having a vehicle.
-
Rooms: Spacious, stylish rooms and comfortable beds earn praise; kitchens and private pools depend on category.
-
Cleanliness: Generally a strength across booking sites, reinforced by positive September and October 2026 Expedia reviews.
-
Service: Helpful reception staff receive frequent praise, though older reviews describe some uneven experiences.
-
Amenities: Rooftop pool, free Wi-Fi, elevator and free parking; don't assume restaurant or bar service.
-
Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a pet fee and deposit; older guests reported water interruptions, without enough recent evidence to establish persistence.
