Axel's take

A limited-service 3-star near St. Lawrence Market

8.4/10

A dependable downtown base with friendly staff, included breakfast and ongoing exterior work.

This limited-service 3-star near St. Lawrence Market is a strong pick for exploring Toronto without paying for full-service extras. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Booking.com feedback also favors the breakfast and location. Included hot breakfast, in-room microwaves and fridges make it practical for families and longer city breaks. IHG advertises newly renovated guest rooms.

The main current caveat is exterior brick restoration, scheduled through October 31, 2026; confirm the likely disruption before booking. Breakfast can get crowded, and some guests mention street noise. Parking costs extra and has a low garage clearance. There’s no pool or full-service restaurant, and the CN Tower is a substantial walk rather than right outside. We’d skip it for a pampering stay, but choose it for comfortable, straightforward sightseeing.
