Axel's take: 8.5/10

A dependable neighborhood base, especially if you book a room with laundry. a practical 3-star extended-stay hotel beside Yoga Station, scored for what it is.

Tokyu Stay Yoga is a practical 3-star extended-stay hotel, and we'd pick it for a longer visit or time with family in Setagaya. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful staff and the station-side location. Nearby groceries and restaurants make everyday life easy, while kitchenettes and washer-dryers in most room categories give it an advantage over a basic business hotel.

The trade-off is being outside central Tokyo's main sightseeing districts: expect train rides rather than attractions on your doorstep. Rooms are functional rather than fancy, and the smaller doubles can feel compact. Check the category carefully—the official site lists the Standard Double without the kitchenette and washer-dryer. Full cleaning is weekly for stays of seven nights or more; shorter stays get requested towel changes and rubbish collection. Skip it if daily housekeeping or a central nightlife location matters most.

• Best for: longer stays with light luggage; visiting family in Setagaya; travelers who prefer a neighborhood base

• Watch out for: Standard Doubles lack kitchenettes and washer-dryers; limited housekeeping between full cleans; train rides to central sightseeing districts

• Location: About a minute from Yoga Station, with groceries and restaurants nearby.

• Rooms: Doubles start at 19 square meters; choose Comfort Double or a twin category for laundry and cooking facilities.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness ratings, reinforced by recent guest feedback.

• Service: Recent reviews consistently praise friendly, helpful reception staff.

• Amenities: Microwaves, Wi-Fi and an optional heat-in-room breakfast set; kitchenettes and laundry depend on category.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast costs extra; no on-site parking, and full housekeeping is not daily.
