Axel's take: 8.2/10

A good-value Jaffa base with praised breakfasts, but choose your room carefully. a small, value-focused boutique hotel in Jaffa, scored for what it is.

Joseph is a small, value-focused boutique hotel in Jaffa, best treated as a comfortable city base rather than a luxury stay. We'd pick it for exploring the flea market and Old Jaffa, with light rail close by. Booking.com ratings are strong, while recent Tripadvisor, Trip.com and Google guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, comfortable beds and breakfast. The hotel's complimentary lobby coffee and snacks add practical value.

Room choice is the main caveat: several guests describe compact or dark rooms, and some report street noise or imperfect cleaning, although cleanliness feedback is positive overall. Parking costs extra, and Expedia lists limited reception hours despite the official site's round-the-clock availability claim; arrange arrival ahead. We'd skip it for guaranteed quiet, bright views or a beachfront setting.

• Best for: value-minded couples; Jaffa food and market explorers; sightseers using light rail

• Watch out for: some rooms are small or dark; street noise in exposed rooms; confirm late-arrival arrangements

• Location: Walkable to the flea market and Old Jaffa, near light rail; the beach is a walk away.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and distinctive decor; room size, daylight and outlook vary.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings, with scattered reports of dust and insufficient bathroom cleaning.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength; confirm reception coverage before arrival.

• Amenities: Breakfast, complimentary lobby coffee and snacks, Wi-Fi and elevator; downstairs spa is separately operated.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and late checkout cost extra; confirm breakfast inclusion and applicable tax documentation.
