Axel's take: 7.7/10

Go for the beach and breakfast, but choose your room carefully. an older, full-service beachfront hotel in Herzliya, scored for what it is.

Daniel is an older, full-service beachfront hotel in Herzliya, not central Tel Aviv. It's a good pick for a seaside break if location matters more than consistently polished interiors. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests praise the beach access, generous breakfast and helpful staff; recent Expedia guests also highlight comfortable beds and sea views. The large seasonal outdoor pool is another strong draw.

Room quality is the catch: recent guests describe both attractive, refreshed rooms and tired bathrooms needing attention. Ask which room category has been renovated. In hotel-sponsored coverage on Ynet, management says facade and balcony restoration will continue through late 2028; confirm work affecting your room before booking. There is no hotel parking, and the indoor spa pool is adults-only with a separate admission charge. We'd skip it for reliably modern luxury or a construction-free escape.

• Best for: beach-focused couples; families visiting during outdoor-pool season; business travelers staying in Herzliya

• Watch out for: uneven room condition; facade and balcony restoration through late 2028; paid off-site parking and adult-only indoor pool

• Location: Direct beach access in Herzliya Pituach; not a central Tel Aviv base.

• Rooms: Comfortable refreshed rooms coexist with dated rooms and bathrooms; confirm the category.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive across sites, although maintenance is less consistent.

• Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise; complaint handling receives some criticism.

• Amenities: Seasonal outdoor pool, buffet breakfast and Shizen Spa; indoor pool restricted to ages 18 and over.

• Fees and surprises: No hotel parking; nearby public parking and indoor spa-pool admission cost extra. Restoration continues through late 2028.
