#3 of 9 hotels in Xinyi by Axel's take. Xinyi is #7 of 9 places to stay in Taipei. The best hotels in Xinyi, ranked · Where to stay in Taipei
Axel's take: 8.8/10
Strong luxury comfort and a prime location, with a deliberately lively personality. a lively, design-led 5-star hotel in Xinyi, scored for what it is.
W Taipei is a design-led 5-star hotel that makes most sense if you want Taipei’s shopping, restaurants and nightlife close at hand. It’s a strong pick for Xinyi: Taipei City Hall MRT is nearby, and Taipei 101 is walkable. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious, clean rooms, comfortable beds and genuinely helpful staff. The outdoor WET pool, substantial gym and well-liked breakfast give it substance beyond the styling.
The main trade-off is personality: public spaces feel social and energetic rather than hushed or traditionally luxurious. Taipei 101 views depend on the room category, so book explicitly for that outlook. Some recent guests mention aging details or room-maintenance niggles, but these remain exceptions within strongly positive feedback. We’d skip it for a quiet, understated retreat; for a lively city break, it delivers.
-
Best for: couples wanting a lively luxury stay; shopping and nightlife trips; travelers prioritizing MRT access
-

-

-

-
Service: Warm, helpful staff earn repeated praise, especially the concierge and entrance teams.
-
