#7 of 9 hotels in Dadaocheng by Axel's take. Dadaocheng is #6 of 9 places to stay in Taipei. The best hotels in Dadaocheng, ranked · Where to stay in Taipei

Axel's take: 7.7/10

A good-value Datong base, with helpful staff and bathrooms that need more consistent upkeep. a budget 3-star in Taipei’s historic Datong district, scored for what it is.

V One, also listed as V-one Vogue Hotel, is a budget 3-star that makes sense for exploring old Taipei without paying for polish. Dihua Street and Ningxia Night Market are nearby, while Daqiaotou MRT is roughly an eight-to-ten-minute walk. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff and generally clean rooms; spa baths and guest laundry add useful extras for the money.

The trade-off is an older property with uneven upkeep. Guests on both sites describe worn bathroom fittings or malfunctioning equipment, and some report noise, though others sleep comfortably. Some room categories have no windows, so choose carefully. Breakfast information conflicts across listings; confirm directly rather than assuming it is available. We'd choose it for neighborhood exploring and value, but skip it if pristine fittings, dependable quiet or immediate MRT access matter most.

  • Best for: value-minded couples; Dihua Street and night-market explorers; travelers who appreciate guest laundry

  • Watch out for: uneven bathroom maintenance; some windowless room categories; occasional noise complaints

  • Location: Close to Dihua Street and Ningxia Night Market; allow eight to ten minutes to Daqiaotou MRT.

  • Rooms: Spa-bath options are a draw, but size, windows and equipment condition vary by category.

  • Cleanliness: Generally praised despite the property's age; upkeep is less consistent than basic housekeeping.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff are a recurring strength across guest-review sites.

  • Amenities: Guests praise laundry facilities and in-room tubs; confirm breakfast and gym availability before relying on them.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is listed as limited and chargeable; breakfast listings conflict, and the official website could not be accessed.
