#2 of 9 hotels in Dadaocheng by Axel's take. Dadaocheng is #6 of 9 places to stay in Taipei. The best hotels in Dadaocheng, ranked · Where to stay in Taipei

Axel's take: 8.4/10

A comfortable old-Taipei base with excellent staff, generous rooms and some dated edges. an established 4-star business hotel near Ningxia Night Market, scored for what it is.

City Suites Taipei Nanxi is an established 4-star business hotel that gets the important things right: comfortable rooms, dependable cleanliness and genuinely helpful service. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the staff, while breakfast earns plenty of enthusiastic mentions. We'd pick it for exploring Ningxia Night Market and Dihua Street, especially if room space matters more than fashionable interiors.

The trade-off is age rather than a widespread failure of the basics. Furnishings can look tired, and sound insulation attracts recurring complaints on Trip.com and Tripadvisor. Allow roughly 10–15 minutes to walk to the MRT, and check your room category: some doubles have no windows. It's a strong choice for food-focused sightseeing; we'd skip it if you're particularly noise-sensitive or want a freshly updated hotel beside a station.

  • Best for: food-focused city breaks; couples wanting room to spread out; travelers exploring old Taipei

  • Watch out for: dated furnishings and bathrooms; variable sound insulation; windowless doubles in some categories

  • Location: Handy for Ningxia Night Market and Dihua Street; allow 10–15 minutes for MRT access.

  • Rooms: Guests often praise the space and comfort; interiors show their age, and some doubles lack windows.

  • Cleanliness: Consistently strong feedback across sites, including recent guests describing older rooms as very clean.

  • Service: Helpful, courteous staff are one of the most consistent strengths across guest reviews.

  • Amenities: Breakfast buffet, gym, free Wi-Fi and complimentary lounge coffee and tea.

  • Fees and surprises: No on-site parking; airport transfers cost extra, and breakfast inclusion should be checked when booking.
