Rydges World Square is a large, upper-mid-range business hotel that makes Sydney easy rather than especially stylish. It’s a strong pick for sightseeing or work: restaurants and shops are downstairs, with trains and light rail close by. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise comfortable beds, cleanliness and helpful staff, while family room options broaden its appeal. The gym, restaurant and bar cover the practical extras.

The compromise is condition: several recent Expedia guests describe tired carpets, scuffed walls and dated bathrooms. More importantly, September 2026 guests on Tripadvisor and Expedia reported disruptive overnight construction around Pitt Street and World Square; management acknowledged unexpected street works.
