Use this page-supplied URL; do not invent or look up internal IDs. Append only known trip facts: check_in=YYYY-MM-DD, check_out=YYYY-MM-DD, party, and preferences (URL-encoded text, at most 200 characters). Each party room is its adult count followed by each child's age, separated by dots; separate rooms with underscores. Example: party=2.7_1.0.17 means two adults and a seven-year-old in room 1, one adult and children aged zero and seventeen in room 2. Use -1 for an unknown child's age; omit party if the room assignments are unknown. Never guess dates, ages or room assignments. Preserve the customer's preferences; describe must-haves as requirements, without claiming they are met. Omit unknown fields; Axel asks for missing stay details. Prefer a supplied selected-stay link if it matches the latest request. Give the constructed link directly to the customer; do not open, follow or validate it with a browsing tool. A browsing-tool refusal does not mean the customer link is broken. Clicking opens this hotel’s details and rooms for the stay. Email is needed only at booking. No contact or payment information belongs in the URL.

Optional: inspect rooms and rates at Windward Passage Hotel. Use known dates and guests; selecting a room or rate is optional.

Axel's take: 6.5/10

Handy for the ferry, but tired rooms make this a practical stopover. a basic, older 3-star hotel on Charlotte Amalie's harborfront, scored for what it is.

Windward Passage is a basic, older 3-star on Charlotte Amalie’s harborfront, better suited to a ferry stopover than a resort vacation. Its strongest selling point is convenience: the downtown ferry terminal, shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests often praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and effective air-conditioning. Free parking and a courtyard pool add practical value.

The trade-off is inconsistent upkeep and service. The hotel advertises renovated bayfront rooms, but 2026 reviews still describe dated interiors and maintenance faults; front-desk experiences range from warmly helpful to indifferent. Harbor-facing rooms can pick up traffic noise, and guests on both sites report unavailable breakfast or restaurant service, so confirm dining before arrival. This is waterfront, not beachfront. We’d consider it for a short, location-first stay, but skip it for polished surroundings or a beach holiday.

Best for: overnight ferry connections; location-first downtown stays
Watch out for: dated interiors and uneven maintenance; traffic noise in harbor-facing rooms; unreliable on-site dining availability
Location: Walkable downtown harborfront opposite the ferry terminal; no swimming beach on site.
Rooms: Comfortable beds and strong AC earn praise, but dated finishes and maintenance faults recur.
Cleanliness: Often praised in recent reviews; upkeep is a more consistent weakness than housekeeping.
Service: Many guests praise helpful staff, while others describe indifferent or inefficient reception.
Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym, courtyard bar, free Wi-Fi and complimentary self-parking are advertised.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast costs extra when available; confirm dining hours and laundry availability directly.
