Axel's take: 5.8/10

Convenient downtown access, but uneven rooms make this a budget fallback. a basic 2-star downtown motel, scored for what it is.

Tiki Lodge is a basic 2-star motel on downtown Spokane’s western edge, best treated as a budget fallback rather than a dependable bargain. Free parking and walkable access to restaurants and the Knitting Factory are useful, and recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and clean rooms. There are enough satisfactory stays here to balance the harshest reviews, but not enough consistency for an easy recommendation.

The recurring drawbacks are worn furnishings, uneven housekeeping and maintenance, plus noise from nearby trains and busy roads. Google reviews reproduced on Wanderlog and Tripadvisor accounts describe more serious room-condition failures, while some guests find the surrounding streets uncomfortable. A September 2026 Expedia guest also reported loud construction nearby; its current status is unconfirmed. It may suit a short, cost-conscious stop, but we’d skip it for light sleepers or anyone prioritizing reliable comfort.

• Best for: budget travelers making a short stop; drivers wanting downtown access

• Watch out for: inconsistent housekeeping and room repairs; train and traffic noise; surrounding streets concern some guests

• Location: Walkable to downtown dining and venues, but some guests feel uncomfortable nearby.

• Rooms: Basic exterior-entry rooms; recurring complaints about worn beds, furnishings and broken fixtures.

• Cleanliness: Many recent Expedia guests praise cleaning, but other accounts show meaningful inconsistency.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength; maintenance follow-through gets mixed reports.

• Amenities: Free parking and Wi-Fi, air conditioning and cable TV; no elevator.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a stay deposit, dog fees and a pet deposit; unregistered room visitors are prohibited.
