Axel's take: 8.7/10

Spacious rooms and a prime downtown location make this a strong convention base. a modern 4-star convention hotel in downtown Spokane, scored for what it is.

The Davenport Grand is a modern 4-star convention hotel that gets the important things right: generous rooms, comfortable beds and a downtown location beside Riverfront Park. We'd pick it for conferences or a theater weekend, especially with the convention-center skybridge and First Interstate Center for the Arts across the street. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise cleanliness, room size and helpful staff; recent Expedia reviews reinforce that strong overall picture.

The main trade-off is the extras: parking costs more, and an amenity fee means checking exactly what's included in your reservation. Tripadvisor guests describe confusion around dining credits, so clarify those before spending. This is a large, contemporary event hotel rather than an intimate historic retreat. Skip it if old-world character or a simple, fee-light stay matters most.

• Best for: convention attendees; theater weekends; travelers who prioritize spacious rooms

• Watch out for: Paid self-parking and valet; Amenity fee and dining-credit conditions; Large convention-hotel atmosphere

• Location: Excellent downtown base beside Riverfront Park, with a convention-center skybridge and theater across the street.

• Rooms: Spacious contemporary rooms, one or two king beds, and large marble showers; comfort earns widespread praise.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming staff receive repeated praise, including in recent Expedia reviews.

• Amenities: Fitness center, restaurants, espresso lounge and seasonal terrace; Marriott says there is no airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is extra; check the amenity fee and any dining-credit restrictions for your reservation.
