Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong budget pick with dependable cleanliness, helpful staff and useful extras. A straightforward budget chain hotel in north Spokane, scored for what it is.

Quality Inn Oakwood is a straightforward budget hotel in north Spokane that gets the important things right. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and genuinely helpful staff; recent Expedia reviews also make the included hot breakfast a clear selling point. Free parking and a 24-hour indoor pool and hot tub give it more practical appeal than its modest class suggests. It's a strong pick for families, north-side visits and travelers with a car.

The trade-offs are setting and consistency of room condition: this is a commercial stretch of Division Street, not a downtown sightseeing base, and some recent guests still describe worn or dated rooms. Booking.com lists renovations scheduled through May 15, 2026, but completion isn't independently confirmed. We'd skip it for polished interiors or a walk-everywhere city break.

• Best for: Budget-conscious families; North Spokane and Whitworth visits; Road-trippers with a car

• Watch out for: Some rooms still feel dated; Not a downtown sightseeing base; Renovation completion unconfirmed

• Location: North Division Street, near shops and restaurants; roughly five miles from downtown.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable, with refrigerators and microwaves; recent reports suggest condition varies.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Tripadvisor and recent Expedia guest reviews.

• Service: Friendly, accommodating staff earn repeated praise, including from returning guests.

• Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking; gym plus 24-hour indoor heated pool and hot tub.

• Fees and surprises: Dogs and rollaway beds cost extra; Booking.com's renovation notice ended May 15, 2026, without verified completion.
