Axel's take: 6.3/10

Convenient for a budget stop, but cleanliness and upkeep are inconsistent. a no-frills 2-star motel near I-90 in Spokane Valley, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star motel in Spokane Valley is a workable budget stop, not a dependable all-rounder. Easy highway access, nearby restaurants, free parking and pet-friendly policies are its strongest selling points. Recent Expedia guests often praise helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms, while Booking.com reviews reproduced by Planet of Hotels also include praise for the cleaning crew. We'd consider it for a short, practical overnight rather than a longer vacation.

The catch is consistency. Other recent guests describe cigarette or pet odors, stained bedding and worn or poorly maintained fixtures; Tripadvisor adds similar complaints despite some positive recent feedback. Those are shortcomings even at this level. Don't assume a refrigerator or microwave comes with a standard room, and confirm the incidental deposit before arrival. We'd skip it if smoke sensitivity or reliably spotless surroundings matter most.

• Best for: budget road-trippers making a short stop; travelers with pets

• Watch out for: recurring smoke and pet-odor complaints; uneven cleaning and room maintenance; fridges and microwaves depend on room type

• Location: Practical highway-access location in Spokane Valley, with restaurants nearby; not a downtown sightseeing base.

• Rooms: Basic rooms with mixed comfort reports; book an explicitly equipped category for a refrigerator and microwave.

• Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, but recent complaints about odors and stained bedding recur across sources.

• Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, although problem handling is less consistent.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi and parking, coin laundry and vending; no breakfast or pool, and no elevator.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists an incidental deposit while Trip.com says none is required; confirm directly. Pets stay free within policy limits.
