Axel's take: 8.1/10
A strong sightseeing base if you can live with very small rooms. a compact, practical 4-star beside Bencoolen MRT, scored for what it is.
V Hotel Bencoolen is a practical 4-star that earns its keep through location and helpful staff rather than spacious rooms or luxury. Bencoolen MRT is practically next door, with museums, eateries and Bugis shopping within easy reach. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the housekeeping and welcoming service. An outdoor pool adds something useful beyond the basics. We'd pick it for a short, sightseeing-heavy Singapore stay.
The main compromise is space: standard doubles and twins measure just 14 square metres, and guests across several sites describe struggling with two suitcases. Hallway and neighbouring-room noise also crops up, although plenty of guests report quiet stays. Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking. We'd skip it for a room-focused holiday, or if generous luggage space and reliable soundproofing matter more than transport convenience.
