Axel's take: 8.1/10
A stylish riverside base, provided you can live with compact rooms. a design-led 4-star hotel on Robertson Quay, scored for what it is.
M Social is a design-led 4-star on Robertson Quay, and we'd pick it for riverside dining and a comfortable city break rather than generous room space. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, the pool and helpful staff. The outdoor pool, gym and Beast & Butterflies restaurant give it solid mid-range substance beyond the playful interiors. It's a strong fit for solo travelers and couples who spend most of their time exploring.
Space is the main compromise: entry-level Alcove rooms measure just 19 square meters, while lofts divide their space across two levels. Those stairs make loft rooms a poor choice for anyone with mobility limitations. Service is generally well reviewed, but front-desk warmth and automated check-in draw some complaints. We'd skip it if you need family-sized rooms or a hotel directly beside an MRT entrance.
-
Best for: couples on a city break; solo travelers; riverside dining and walks
-
Watch out for: compact entry-level rooms; internal stairs in loft rooms; uneven check-in experiences
-
Location: Walkable riverside dining area; Havelock MRT is roughly eight minutes away on foot.
-
Rooms: Alcove rooms start at 19 square meters; loft layouts add stairs rather than expansive floor space.
-
Cleanliness: Strong overall guest feedback, with occasional reports of dust rather than a dominant cleanliness problem.
-
Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise, though reception and automated check-in are less consistent.
-
Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym, free Wi-Fi and Beast & Butterflies restaurant and bar.
-
Fees and surprises: Expedia lists an incidental deposit and paid parking; breakfast inclusion depends on your booking.
