Andaz Singapore is a contemporary 5-star above Bugis MRT, and we'd pick it for exploring the city rather than retreating from it. Spacious rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and easy access to Kampong Glam give it real appeal. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, comfortable rooms and helpful staff; breakfast also earns enthusiastic mentions. Mr. Stork's rooftop setting adds a good reason to spend an evening upstairs.
The trade-off is that its leisure facilities feel more city-hotel than resort: guests describe a relatively small pool and compact gym. Service feedback is strongly positive overall, but occasional reports of awkward reception interactions temper expectations of flawless luxury. We'd skip it if expansive pool facilities are the priority; for food, neighborhoods and getting around without taxis, it's a strong choice.
