AMOY is a 37-room, 4-star heritage boutique hotel, and a strong pick if personal service matters more than sprawling rooms. Its conserved shophouse setting and entrance through the Fuk Tak Chi Museum give it genuine character. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and the location beside Telok Ayer MRT, with Chinatown and plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
The trade-off is space: singles measure 16 square metres and Deluxe rooms 22, while some guests find the rooms dark or awkwardly laid out. Bar-facing rooms can catch nightlife noise, so light sleepers should request a quieter position. The pool and gym are not on-site; complimentary access is at The Clan Hotel, a minute away.
