Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong family pick for clean villas and pool days, not full-service pampering. a mid-range vacation-ownership villa resort in North Scottsdale, scored for what it is.

Sheraton Desert Oasis is a mid-range vacation-ownership resort, not a conventional full-service Sheraton. It's a strong pick for families and longer stays: villas have kitchens or kitchenettes and laundry facilities, while the waterfall pool, quieter second pool and children's splash area give the grounds real appeal. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, comfortable accommodations and helpful staff. We'd choose it for practical comfort and relaxed pool days rather than luxury.

The trade-offs are limited on-site dining, paid parking and a North Scottsdale location better suited to driving than an Old Town walking holiday. Check the villa category carefully because kitchen facilities differ, and request an interior unit if road noise bothers you. Marriott also announces villa refurbishment from April through October 2027, with daytime construction noise expected. Skip it if you want extensive dining or hotel-style pampering.

• Best for: families who like to self-cater; longer stays with a car; golf and pool-focused trips

• Watch out for: limited on-site dining and paid parking; road noise in some perimeter villas; villa refurbishment April–October 2027

• Location: Near TPC Scottsdale and convenient North Scottsdale roads; better with a car than for an Old Town walking trip.

• Rooms: Comfortable villas with laundry; kitchen versus kitchenette facilities depend on the category.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent guest feedback, supported by strong cleanliness ratings on Expedia and Booking.com.

• Service: Recent guests commonly praise friendly staff, helpful communication and straightforward check-in.

• Amenities: Waterfall pool, quieter pool, hot tub, splash area, fitness facilities and barbecue grills; dining is limited.

• Fees and surprises: Parking carries a daily charge; checkout is 10 a.m.; April–October 2027 refurbishment brings expected daytime noise.
