Axel's take: 8.7/10

Stylish bungalows make a strong couples’ escape, though luxury service can be uneven. A luxury Hyatt bungalow resort with a relaxed, design-focused feel, scored for what it is.

Andaz Scottsdale is a luxury Hyatt resort whose low-rise bungalows, patios and landscaped grounds feel more intimate than a conventional big resort. We'd pick it for a relaxed couples’ break with good design and room to spread out. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious bathrooms, cleanliness and welcoming staff; recent Expedia reviews remain especially strong. Three pools, Palo Verde Spa and Weft & Warp give you solid reasons to stay on property.

The main reservation is consistency at luxury expectations: several 2026 Tripadvisor guests describe slow breakfasts, missed requests or promised touches that never arrived, despite plentiful praise elsewhere. A daily resort fee and paid parking also weaken the value. Check the activities calendar rather than assuming every advertised class runs daily. We'd skip it if you want walk-out Old Town nightlife or reliably seamless luxury service.

  • Best for: Couples seeking a relaxed resort break; Travelers who prefer bungalow-style rooms; Design and spa enthusiasts

  • Watch out for: Daily resort fee and paid parking; Occasional service and breakfast delays; Activities run on a schedule

  • Location: Tucked away off Scottsdale Road; convenient for exploring by car, rather than an Old Town doorstep location.

  • Rooms: Spacious bungalow-style rooms with patios and oversized bathrooms; outdoor paths connect the resort.

  • Cleanliness: A clear strength across Tripadvisor and Expedia, with consistently praised rooms and grounds.

  • Service: Usually warm and accommodating, but recent reports show uneven follow-through and dining speed.

  • Amenities: Three pools, spa, fitness center and restaurant; check activity schedules and pool-access rules.

  • Fees and surprises: Daily resort fee; self-parking, valet parking and pets cost extra.
