Axel's take: 7.6/10

A practical overnight stop with friendly staff, but uneven upkeep. A no-frills, pet-friendly chain hotel off I-95 in Pooler, scored for what it is.

This no-frills La Quinta by Wyndham is a good fit for an I-95 stopover or airport-area stay, rather than a Savannah sightseeing trip on foot. Free breakfast and parking help the value, and rooms include microwaves and mini-fridges. Recent Expedia and Google guests repeatedly praise comfortable beds, clean rooms and welcoming staff; some also report updated rooms.

The catch is consistency. Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews describe recurring hallway odors, worn carpets and uneven housekeeping alongside much happier stays. A September 2026 Expedia reviewer reported further property updates underway, so don't assume everything has been refreshed. The seasonal outdoor pool earned praise in August after earlier closure complaints; confirm availability if swimming matters. We'd choose it for a short, practical stay, but skip it for reliably polished surroundings or walkable access to historic Savannah.

• Best for: I-95 road-trip stopovers; Travelers with pets; Airport-area stays with a car

• Watch out for: Recurring hallway odors and worn carpets; Uneven housekeeping; Seasonal pool; confirm availability

• Location: Convenient to I-95 and the airport; historic Savannah requires a drive.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds, microwaves and mini-fridges; some updated rooms, but condition varies.

• Cleanliness: Recent praise is substantial, though odors and housekeeping lapses recur.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength, with occasional exceptions.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus a gym and seasonal outdoor pool.

• Fees and surprises: Pets cost extra and restrictions apply; a recent guest reported property updates underway.
