Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong budget base for drivers, provided you can tolerate occasional aircraft noise. a budget motor inn with exterior corridors in Savannah’s Midtown, scored for what it is.

Best Western Central Inn is a straightforward budget motor inn, not a downtown sightseeing hotel. It's a strong pick for travelers with a car: recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, welcoming staff and easy parking. Free hot breakfast and an outdoor pool make it good value for the class, while several guests describe refreshed rooms rather than the tired interiors you might expect.

The trade-off is location and atmosphere. You'll need transport to explore the Historic District, and exterior corridors give it a distinctly motel-style feel. Aircraft from nearby Hunter Army Airfield can be loud; some guests barely notice them, while others flag the disturbance. Breakfast earns mostly positive feedback, but don't expect anything elaborate. We'd skip it for a car-free Savannah getaway or if quiet is your top priority.

• Best for: budget-conscious travelers with a car; families wanting breakfast and a pool; short sightseeing stays

• Watch out for: intermittent military aircraft noise; transport needed for historic sightseeing; incidental card hold at check-in

• Location: Midtown shopping-and-dining base, rather than a walkable Historic District address.

• Rooms: Exterior-entry rooms; recent guests often describe comfortable beds and refreshed interiors.

• Cleanliness: Consistently a strength in recent guest feedback across major sites.

• Service: Friendly front-desk staff and attentive breakfast service receive repeated praise.

• Amenities: Free hot breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi, plus an outdoor pool; the hotel confirms no fitness center.

• Fees and surprises: An incidental card hold applies and may take 7–10 business days to clear; early arrival or late departure can cost extra.
