Axel's take: 7.9/10

A practical airport stop with welcoming staff, but room upkeep remains uneven. a full-service, mid-range airport hotel, scored for what it is.

This full-service, mid-range DoubleTree is a good pick for an airport overnight, rather than a Savannah sightseeing base. Hilton puts the terminal five minutes away, with a free shuttle and parking. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, comfortable beds and spacious rooms; September and October 2026 feedback is particularly positive. Hilton now describes the property as recently renovated.

The refresh hasn't eliminated every inconsistency: guests earlier in 2026 reported housekeeping misses and bathroom maintenance problems. Breakfast costs extra, and the screened-in, seasonally heated pool was unavailable to guests in April 2026; confirm its status if swimming matters. We'd choose it for flight convenience and room space, but skip it for a polished luxury stay or a walkable historic-district weekend.

• Best for: Early flights and airport stopovers; Business travelers; Families wanting extra room space

• Watch out for: Uneven housekeeping and maintenance; Breakfast costs extra; Confirm pool availability

• Location: Near the airport and I-95; historic Savannah is roughly a 20-minute drive, not a walk away.

• Rooms: Spacious layouts and comfortable beds earn praise; some 2026 guests report bathroom defects and uneven condition.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive across major sites, with recurring housekeeping misses in some 2026 reviews.

• Service: Friendly front-desk and restaurant staff are a consistent strength; shuttle feedback is mostly positive but not unanimous.

• Amenities: Restaurant/bar, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour gym and screened-in, seasonally heated pool; April 2026 guests reported pool closure.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking and airport shuttle are complimentary; breakfast is extra. Confirm shuttle arrangements before arrival.
