Axel's take: 7.0/10

Friendly staff and practical surroundings, but tired rooms make this a qualified pick. A practical 3-star chain hotel in car-oriented Midtown, scored for what it is.

This 3-star Courtyard is a practical Midtown base, not a walk-out-the-door Historic District hotel. It makes sense for short stays near Abercorn Street’s shops and restaurants, especially with a car. Expedia guests frequently praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; balconies are another welcome feature. We’d call it serviceable rather than a standout for its class.

The reservation is room condition: recent Tripadvisor guests repeatedly describe worn furnishings and maintenance problems, and an October 2026 Expedia reviewer also found it tired. Cleanliness gets plenty of praise overall, but deeper-cleaning misses recur. Parking costs extra, and breakfast is not automatically included. The Bistro has also drawn reports of inconsistent opening. We’d skip it for a polished Marriott experience or a sightseeing trip centered on walking downtown.

• Best for: Short stays with a car; Midtown shopping and business trips

• Watch out for: Dated rooms and uneven maintenance; Paid parking and extra-cost breakfast; Confirm Bistro hours

• Location: Convenient for Midtown shops and restaurants; downtown sightseeing generally requires transport.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and balconies earn praise, but wear and bathroom maintenance draw repeated criticism.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive on Expedia, with recurring exceptions involving deeper cleaning and musty smells.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a strength, though follow-through on problems varies.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, fitness center, Wi-Fi and Bistro dining; do not expect the catalog’s extensive resort facilities.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking is charged; check breakfast inclusion and Bistro availability before relying on either.
