Axel's take: 7.2/10

Spacious rooms and helpful staff make this a practical budget base, despite tired interiors. A no-frills, all-suite budget hotel in Savannah’s Midtown shopping area, scored for what it is.

Comfort Inn Savannah Midtown is a no-frills, all-suite budget hotel, best approached as a practical base rather than a charming Savannah stay. We'd consider it for the generous room sizes, free parking and included hot breakfast. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful front-desk staff and comfortable beds, while nearby shops and restaurants make the location convenient if you're driving.

The trade-off is uneven upkeep: recent guests describe dated furniture, worn carpets and occasional humidity or bathroom-cleaning problems alongside plenty of clean-room reports. Elevator outages recur in reviews from late 2025 through spring 2026; confirm operation before booking if stairs are difficult. The hotel lists a seasonal outdoor pool, not an indoor one. We'd skip it for a polished getaway or sightseeing entirely on foot in the historic district.

• Best for: Budget-conscious travelers with a car; Families wanting extra room; Short Midtown business stays

• Watch out for: Dated interiors and uneven housekeeping; Repeated elevator-outage reports; confirm current operation; Historic-district sightseeing requires transportation

• Location: Near Oglethorpe Mall and restaurants, but outside the walkable historic district.

• Rooms: Spacious suites with microwaves and refrigerators; furniture, carpets and televisions draw recurring criticism.

• Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, but recent reviews also flag sticky carpets, dampness and bathroom mold.

• Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a consistent strength across Tripadvisor and Expedia.

• Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus a gym, laundry facilities and seasonal outdoor pool.

• Fees and surprises: An incidental deposit may be required; confirm elevator availability and seasonal pool opening before arrival.
