Useful for an airport stop, but upkeep and service are inconsistent. a basic, motel-style budget hotel near Sarasota airport, scored for what it is.

This is a basic, motel-style budget hotel near Sarasota airport, not a beach hotel despite the name. We'd consider it for a short, practical stop: free parking, breakfast and an outdoor pool cover the essentials, and the Ringling Museum is nearby. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests include plenty who found clean rooms and comfortable beds, but the overall feedback is mixed rather than reliably good.

The main compromise is inconsistent upkeep. Recent reviews describe refreshed bathrooms alongside worn furniture and uneven cleaning, while Choice's renovation notice says parts of the property are undergoing work. Check-in commonly involves a remote agent on a screen; some guests find it efficient, others struggle to get help. We'd skip it for a beach-focused vacation or if dependable on-site service matters.

• Best for: budget travelers with a car; short airport-area stays

• Watch out for: uneven cleaning and maintenance; remote video check-in; partial renovations; beach requires a drive

• Location: On US-41 near the airport and Ringling Museum; not beachfront or on Lido Key.

• Rooms: Exterior-corridor rooms; comfortable beds earn praise, but updates and furniture condition vary.

• Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, but recent complaints make consistency a concern.

• Service: Video-agent check-in divides guests; access to hands-on assistance is inconsistent.

• Amenities: Free breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus an outdoor pool; no elevator.

• Fees and surprises: Refundable deposit required; Booking.com lists a nightly service fee, and Choice flags partial renovations.
