Axel's take: 8.4/10

A strong Itaim Bibi base, provided you choose your room carefully. An upscale business hotel in restaurant-rich Itaim Bibi, scored for what it is.

Meliá Jardim Europa is an upscale business hotel in Itaim Bibi, strongest on location, comfortable beds and attentive staff rather than uniform luxury. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the nearby restaurants, breakfast and helpful service; cleanliness is generally well rated too. It's a strong pick for work trips or weekends built around eating out, with a rooftop outdoor pool, gym and tennis court adding useful extras.

The catch is uneven room condition: recent guests describe both refreshed rooms and distinctly older furnishings and bathrooms. Management said in April 2026 that two floors still awaited renovation, so ask explicitly for a renovated room. A May 2026 guest also reported pool construction; the official site now advertises it as open, but confirm availability if swimming matters. Parking costs extra, and breakfast inclusion depends on your booking. We'd skip it if consistently modern interiors are essential.

• Best for: Business travelers in Itaim Bibi; Restaurant-focused city breaks; Travelers prioritizing helpful service

• Watch out for: Uneven renovation across room categories; Confirm rooftop pool availability; Paid parking; check breakfast inclusion

• Location: Walkable restaurant-filled Itaim Bibi base near Faria Lima; less convenient for metro access.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and often generous space, but older rooms remain a recurring complaint.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings, with occasional housekeeping lapses rather than a dominant pattern.

• Service: Attentive, welcoming staff earn repeated praise across Tripadvisor and Expedia.

• Amenities: Outdoor rooftop pool, gym, tennis court and restaurant; confirm pool access after reported construction.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking is extra; breakfast is not included in every booking.
