#6 of 6 hotels in Liberdade by Axel's take. Liberdade is #6 of 10 places to stay in Sao Paulo. The best hotels in Liberdade, ranked · Where to stay in Sao Paulo

Axel's take: 6.4/10

Central convenience and helpful staff, but noise and uneven upkeep limit the appeal. a basic budget hotel in central São Paulo, listed as 3-star, scored for what it is.

Hotel Tenda Brigadeiro is a basic budget hotel, despite its listed three stars. Its strongest case is convenience: Liberdade, downtown sights and metro connections are within walking distance. Booking.com guests rate the location and staff well, and breakfast earns regular praise. We'd consider it for a short, low-cost stop rather than a stay where comfort matters most.

The drawbacks go beyond plain furnishings. Recent Hotels.com and Decolar guests repeatedly flag disruptive noise, while cleanliness feedback ranges from perfectly adequate to dirty bathrooms and bedding. Rooms are small, with limited storage, and some lack an outside window. There's also a substantial entrance staircase and no elevator. We'd skip it for light sleepers, travelers with mobility limitations or anyone expecting dependable three-star comfort. Parking costs extra; confirm access arrangements before arriving.

  • Best for: budget travelers on short stays; visitors prioritizing Liberdade and downtown access

  • Watch out for: recurring nighttime and reception noise; inconsistent cleaning and room upkeep; entrance staircase with no elevator

  • Location: Convenient for Liberdade, central sights and metro stations; location is a consistent strength in guest ratings.

  • Rooms: Small, plainly furnished rooms; guests report limited storage, variable condition and some rooms without outside windows.

  • Cleanliness: Mixed: many guests find it adequate, but recent complaints about bathrooms and bedding recur across sites.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring positive; reception operates around the clock.

  • Amenities: Basic breakfast, free Wi-Fi and private bathrooms; no elevator.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is charged separately; published hours and guest accounts differ, so confirm location and late access.
