Axel's take: 8.2/10

Generous breakfast and welcoming staff make this a strong downtown budget pick. a simple, value-focused downtown hotel, scored for what it is.

Normandie is a simple downtown hotel that earns its keep through friendly service, a generous included breakfast and convenient access to shops and metro stations. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff, and recent feedback is largely positive about cleanliness and comfort. It's a strong pick for travelers who want a practical central base rather than polished surroundings.

The trade-off is uneven room condition: older windows, street noise and shower-temperature problems recur in guest feedback. Some guests praise renovated rooms; an Expedia guest reported renovation work in May 2026, so confirm whether work continues and request an updated, rear-facing room. Guests also flag caution around the surrounding streets after dark. We'd skip it for light sleepers or anyone prioritizing an easygoing evening neighborhood.

• Best for: budget-conscious downtown visitors; shopping trips around central São Paulo; travelers prioritizing breakfast and service

• Watch out for: street noise and older windows; uneven room updates and shower performance; surrounding streets require caution after dark

• Location: Convenient for central shopping and metro access; guests advise caution in the surrounding neighborhood.

• Rooms: Comfortable for many guests, but condition varies; request an updated room away from the street.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive recent feedback, with occasional housekeeping complaints rather than a dominant pattern.

• Service: Consistently praised across Booking.com and Expedia; the clearest strength alongside breakfast.

• Amenities: Included buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioned rooms and business/event facilities.

• Fees and surprises: No on-site parking; the hotel advertises partner parking, so confirm charges and any continuing renovation work.
