Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong Anhembi event base, but pool renovations limit its leisure appeal. a large, full-service mid-range convention hotel beside Anhembi, scored for what it is.

This large, full-service mid-range hotel makes most sense when Anhembi is the reason for your trip. We'd pick it for convention convenience and dependable comfort rather than neighborhood atmosphere. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and the substantial breakfast buffet. Recent Tripadvisor reviews also single out housekeeping, while the refreshed lobby, restaurant and gym improve the public spaces.

The important catch is the indoor pool: October 2026 reporting says its renovation remains unfinished, and recent guests confirm closure. Check reopening directly before booking for swimming. Breakfast is not included in every booking, and parking costs extra. Service draws occasional criticism for slowness, though praise outweighs complaints. We'd skip it for a sightseeing trip centered on strolling between restaurants and attractions; its location is much more compelling for events.

• Best for: Anhembi convention attendees; business travelers; Sambadrome event visitors

• Watch out for: Indoor pool renovation remains unfinished; Breakfast and parking can cost extra; Event-focused location rather than a sightseeing neighborhood

• Location: Highly convenient for Anhembi events; less appealing for a walkable sightseeing stay.

• Rooms: Comfort and space earn strong feedback; public-area renovations do not establish that every room was refurbished.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Generally helpful and attentive, with occasional reports of slow service.

• Amenities: Renovated gym, restaurant, bar and free Wi-Fi; indoor pool renovation still unfinished in October 2026.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is charged separately; confirm breakfast inclusion and pool reopening before booking.
