Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical budget stop for bus connections, with helpful staff but limited comfort. A no-frills budget hotel near Tietê bus terminal and metro, scored for what it is.

HLN is a no-frills budget hotel near Tietê bus terminal and metro, best treated as a practical overnight stop rather than somewhere to linger. We'd pick it for a bus connection or a budget-conscious event trip. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, generally clean rooms and simple breakfast; proximity to Shopping Center Norte is another useful plus.

The trade-offs are basic, sometimes small rooms and recurring complaints about noise carrying through windows and between rooms. Choose carefully: some budget rooms have only a fan, while other categories include air conditioning. There's no elevator, and several recent guests describe the surrounding streets as uninviting after dark. We'd skip it for a quiet extended stay or if step-free access matters.

• Best for: Overnight Tietê bus connections; Budget-conscious event visitors; Short, practical stays

• Watch out for: Street and neighboring-room noise; Fan-only budget rooms; No elevator

• Location: Convenient for Tietê transport links and Center Norte; some recent guests advise caution outside at night.

• Rooms: Basic and sometimes small; air conditioning depends on category, and sound insulation draws repeated criticism.

• Cleanliness: Generally praised in recent reviews, though condition and upkeep are less consistent.

• Service: Helpful, attentive reception staff are the most consistent strength across booking sites.

• Amenities: Simple buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi, luggage storage and 24-hour reception; no elevator.

• Fees and surprises: Parking information conflicts across listings; confirm arrangements and any charges directly before arrival.
