Axel's take: 8.9/10

Polished Itaim luxury with standout cleanliness, though service occasionally misses the mark. a contemporary 5-star luxury hotel in Itaim Bibi, scored for what it is.

Fasano São Paulo Itaim is a contemporary 5-star luxury hotel we'd choose for a business trip or a food-focused city break. Its Brazilian-Italian design, comfortable rooms and Gero restaurant give it a distinct identity. Booking.com and Expedia guests rate cleanliness and comfort particularly highly, while recent Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly praise the staff. The heated rooftop pool, city views, spa and gym round out a strong luxury offering.

The caveat is consistency rather than a generally poor experience: some recent guests describe check-in delays, room-service mistakes or maintenance lapses that matter at this level. Breakfast and parking can cost extra, and Expedia lists a service fee, so check your booking's inclusions. We'd skip it if strong all-in value or absolutely seamless service matters more than design, dining and location.

• Best for: business travelers visiting Itaim Bibi; design-conscious couples; travelers prioritizing dining

• Watch out for: occasional service and maintenance lapses; breakfast and parking may cost extra; service fee listed by Expedia

• Location: Well placed for Itaim Bibi restaurants and business destinations; guests consistently rate the location highly.

• Rooms: Contemporary rooms start at 30 square meters; comfort earns strong guest ratings.

• Cleanliness: A major strength across aggregate ratings, rather than a recurring concern.

• Service: Mostly warmly praised, with occasional check-in and room-service failures.

• Amenities: Heated rooftop pool, dry and steam saunas, spa, gym, Gero restaurant and bars.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusions; parking costs extra, and Expedia lists a 10% service fee.
