#1 of 8 hotels in Goleta & Airport by Axel's take. Goleta & Airport is #6 of 6 places to stay in Santa Barbara. The best hotels in Goleta & Airport, ranked · Where to stay in Santa Barbara

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong Goleta base for roomy suites, helpful staff and family-friendly outdoor space. a 3-star Marriott extended-stay hotel near UCSB and Santa Barbara Airport, scored for what it is.

This 3-star Marriott extended-stay hotel is a strong pick for UCSB visits, family trips and longer stays where a kitchen matters more than a downtown address. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise the spacious suites, cleanliness and helpful staff. Included hot breakfast, an outdoor pool and a courtyard with games and barbecues make it more appealing than a purely functional airport stop.

The main compromise is location: this is Goleta, not central Santa Barbara, and dining options within an easy walk are limited. Some guests report aircraft or neighboring-room noise, although many describe comfortable, quiet stays. Parking costs extra, Marriott lists housekeeping only twice weekly, and there is no airport shuttle. We'd skip it for a car-free sightseeing weekend or if undisturbed sleep is your overriding priority.

  • Best for: families visiting UCSB; longer stays with a kitchen; travelers exploring by car

  • Watch out for: limited walkable dining; occasional aircraft and neighboring-room noise; paid parking and twice-weekly housekeeping

  • Location: Convenient for UCSB and the airport; less suited to exploring downtown Santa Barbara on foot.

  • Rooms: Spacious kitchen-equipped suites earn strong feedback; sound isolation gets some criticism.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are repeatedly praised across review sites.

  • Amenities: Included hot breakfast, outdoor pool, whirlpool, gym, laundry and courtyard games.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and pets incur fees; no airport shuttle, and Marriott lists twice-weekly housekeeping.
