A good beach-and-nightlife base, but room choice matters and quiet isn't guaranteed.
The Lighthouse is a lively, motel-style 3-star resort near Times Square, not a beachfront retreat. We'd pick it for easy walks to the sand and restaurants, pool time and evenings at the Tiki Bar. Recent Expedia guests mostly praise clean, spacious rooms and friendly staff; Tripadvisor paints a more mixed picture. The newer Offshore rooms look the strongest choice, and the hotel says its new resort pool opened in 2025.
The main trade-off is loud evening entertainment, especially in rooms facing the Tiki Bar. Recent guests on both sites also describe some older rooms as worn, with uneven cleaning and maintenance. The hotel advertises a phased expansion and rebuilding project, so confirm construction near your assigned room. Expedia lists a nightly resort fee and no elevator. We'd skip it for early bedtimes, a reliably quiet family break or consistently polished rooms.

Best for: Beachgoers who enjoy nightlife; Friends planning a lively getaway; Travelers booking newer Offshore rooms
Watch out for: Late-night Tiki Bar noise; Uneven condition in older rooms; Confirm construction and stair access
Location: Walkable to Times Square, restaurants and the beach; not directly beachfront.
Rooms: Newer Offshore rooms are the safer pick; kitchen facilities vary by category.
Cleanliness: Mostly positive on Expedia, but recurring complaints affect some older rooms.
Service: Often praised as friendly, though Tripadvisor reports uneven problem handling.
Amenities: Two outdoor pools, bars and food; evening entertainment shapes the atmosphere.
Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a nightly resort fee; one parking space is free, and published pet terms conflict.
