Axel's take: 8.1/10

A strong San Benito base for service and pool time, less convincing for quiet. An established full-service upscale hotel in San Benito, scored for what it is.

Sheraton Presidente is an established upscale city hotel in San Benito, with an outdoor pool and gardens that give it more breathing room than a typical business hotel. It's a strong pick for travelers who prioritize location and helpful staff over cutting-edge rooms. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, welcoming service and breakfast; museums and restaurants are within walking distance.

The main compromise is age: several guests describe rooms and fittings as dated, even while rating their stays positively. Tripadvisor also has repeated reports of late event music, with peacock calls adding another potential disturbance. We'd request a room away from event areas and confirm the function schedule. Breakfast isn't included in every booking, and airport transfers cost extra. Skip it if contemporary interiors or dependable early nights are your priorities.

• Best for: Business travelers staying in San Benito; Sightseers who want pool downtime; Travelers who prioritize friendly service

• Watch out for: Dated rooms and fittings; Event music and peacock noise; Breakfast inclusion varies by booking

• Location: San Benito/Zona Rosa base within walking distance of art and anthropology museums and restaurants.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable, but recurring feedback points to aging décor and fittings.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Expedia, Booking.com and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming staff earn repeated praise in recent reviews.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, gardens, gym, spa, restaurant, bar and restricted-access Club lounge.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking is complimentary; valet and airport transfers cost extra; check breakfast inclusion.
