Axel's take: 8.6/10

A dependable mall-side base with warm service, rather than a hotel for lingering. a straightforward 3-star beside La Gran Vía shopping mall, scored for what it is.

This straightforward 3-star beside La Gran Vía is a strong pick for travelers who want clean, comfortable rooms and restaurants within walking distance. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the staff, cleanliness and included breakfast; recent Tripadvisor feedback reinforces the appeal of the surrounding shopping-and-dining area. It delivers the practical comforts this class should, without pretending to be a resort.

The trade-offs are compact entry-level rooms and a location better suited to mall-side convenience than exploring the historic center on foot. Nearby construction drew repeated complaints in late 2025 and another in May 2026; confirm whether work continues before booking if daytime quiet matters. Marriott also lists charged, off-site valet parking, despite some booking sites advertising free parking. We'd skip it for a spacious, facility-heavy leisure stay.

• Best for: business travelers; short shopping-and-dining stays; travelers prioritizing clean rooms and helpful staff

• Watch out for: compact entry-level rooms; nearby construction reported through May 2026; current status unconfirmed; charged off-site valet parking

• Location: Steps from La Gran Vía restaurants and shops, but not a historic-center walking base.

• Rooms: Comfort scores are strong; entry-level queen rooms are compact, and twin-bed rooms have doubles.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com scores and recent Expedia feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise across several review sites.

• Amenities: Included buffet breakfast, gym, restaurant and bar; official facilities do not list a pool or hotel shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Marriott lists paid off-site valet; confirm parking terms and the status of neighboring construction.
