Axel's take: 8.4/10

A strong city base for service and dining, with rooms that show their age. a traditional five-star business hotel opposite Metrocentro Mall, scored for what it is.

This traditional five-star business hotel opposite Metrocentro Mall is a strong pick for a comfortable, well-supported city stay rather than cutting-edge luxury. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, comfortable beds and breakfast, including freshly made pupusas. The pedestrian bridge to the mall adds everyday convenience, while three restaurants, an outdoor pool, gym and spa make staying in a practical option.

The weak spot is consistency of room condition: recent guests describe dated bathrooms and maintenance needs, despite broadly strong cleanliness feedback. A June 2026 guest also reported lobby renovation noise and dust; completion could not be verified, so check before booking. We'd choose it for business trips and shopping convenience, but skip it if pristine contemporary rooms or a historic-center doorstep matter most.

• Best for: business travelers; families wanting full-service convenience; travelers prioritizing shopping and dining

• Watch out for: dated bathrooms and uneven room maintenance; lobby works reported in June 2026; confirm completion; not in the historic center

• Location: Opposite Metrocentro via a pedestrian bridge; use a taxi or rideshare for historic-center visits.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds are a recurring strength; some recent guests report tired bathrooms and repair needs.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across sites, with some recent bathroom and housekeeping exceptions.

• Service: Friendly, attentive staff earn consistent praise across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia.

• Amenities: Three restaurants, one outdoor pool, a spa and a gym; no indoor pool confirmed.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on booking; airport transfers and valet cost extra, while IHG lists complimentary self-parking.
