A practical La Sabana base where helpful staff outshine the aging rooms. a straightforward mid-range hotel with a casino near La Sabana Park, scored for what it is.

Hotel Palma Real is a straightforward mid-range hotel with a casino near La Sabana Park, best approached as a practical city base rather than a destination in itself. We'd pick it for a short business visit or a stop between travel days. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and included breakfast, making this a solid choice if those basics matter more than contemporary design.

The main compromise is the aging accommodation: dated furnishings and occasional maintenance problems recur across guest accounts, while some Expedia guests report intrusive street noise. Parking and airport transfers cost extra. The park and stadium are convenient, but this isn't the historic downtown on your doorstep. We'd skip it if you want polished interiors, reliably hushed rooms or a hotel that feels like part of the vacation.

• Best for: short business visits; travelers prioritizing service and breakfast; La Sabana park and stadium visits

• Watch out for: dated rooms and occasional maintenance issues; street noise in some rooms; parking and airport transfers cost extra

• Location: Near La Sabana Park and the National Stadium, rather than in the historic downtown.

• Rooms: Comfort scores are strong, but dated interiors and occasional maintenance issues temper expectations.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most dependable point of praise.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, free Wi-Fi, restaurant, bar, gym and casino cover the practical extras.

• Fees and surprises: Budget separately for parking and airport transfers; confirm arrangements before arrival.
