Axel's take: 8.4/10

A comfortable parkside business base, rather than a five-star luxury stay. An upscale business hotel with a casino beside La Sabana Park, scored for what it is.

This is an upscale business hotel with a casino, not the five-star luxury experience its catalog listing suggests. We'd pick it for comfortable beds, generous rooms and access to La Sabana Park. Tripadvisor and Google guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, while Booking.com gives cleanliness and comfort particularly strong marks. The hotel says it completed a renovation in 2023; two restaurants, an outdoor pool and free parking make it a practical city base.

The trade-off is character and consistency: some recent guests still find rooms gloomy or bathrooms tired, despite the refresh. You're outside the historic center, so this isn't the easiest choice for sightseeing entirely on foot. Expedia also flags construction at a neighboring building; confirm whether noise could affect your room. We'd skip it for a quiet resort-style break, but it's a strong fit for business trips and short city stays.

• Best for: Business travelers; Short city stays with a car; Travelers who want park access

• Watch out for: Neighboring construction flagged by Expedia; Some rooms still feel dated; Outside the historic center

• Location: Beside La Sabana Park and convenient for the stadium; less convenient for walking around the historic center.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and good space earn praise, though some guests report gloomy rooms and tired bathrooms.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength overall, with Booking.com scoring cleanliness 9.3/10.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are a recurring highlight across Tripadvisor and Google reviews.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, 24-hour gym, two restaurants, casino and free Wi-Fi.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is free; breakfast depends on the booking, and Expedia flags neighboring construction.
