Hotels in San Jose, Californiaan upscale 4-star convention hotel in downtown San Jose
7.7/10
A convenient downtown base, but upkeep and service don't always match the upscale billing.
Signia is an upscale 4-star convention hotel whose strongest selling point is its downtown location, close to museums, restaurants and the convention center. We'd consider it for business trips and event weekends rather than a luxury escape. Expedia and Booking.com guests generally praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff; the rooftop pool and fitness center add useful downtime options.
The catch is consistency. Recent Tripadvisor guests repeatedly describe worn furnishings, maintenance shortcomings and frustrating billing or problem resolution, even while complimenting individual employees. That's harder to excuse at this level. Valet parking costs extra, and breakfast isn't automatically included. An August 2026 water-supply failure temporarily closed several restaurants; subsequent reporting said most reopened, and Hilton currently advertises dining service. We'd skip it if immaculate finishes and reliably attentive service matter more than location.
