Axel's take

a modern 4-star near Rome Termini

8.6/10

A comfortable Rome base with roomy accommodation, a rooftop terrace and convenient transport.

The Hive is a modern 4-star near Termini, and a strong pick if you want practical comfort rather than historic Roman character. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds, effective air-conditioning and cleanliness. Staff also earn plenty of credit for helpful directions and luggage assistance. The rooftop restaurant and breakfast terrace give it something beyond the basics, while the station and nearby metro make sightseeing straightforward.

The main catches are room allocation and extras. Some Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests report noise in lower-level rooms, so light sleepers should request a quieter upper floor. Expedia lists separate charges for both gym and spa access: don't assume they're included. We'd choose it for a comfortable sightseeing break, but skip it if period charm or an all-inclusive wellness setup matters most.

Best for

  • sightseers arriving by train
  • couples wanting modern comfort
  • families prioritizing room space

Watch out for

  • gym and spa access cost extra
  • noise in some lower-level rooms
  • modern style rather than historic character
Location
Convenient for Termini, metro connections and Santa Maria Maggiore; allow roughly 10 minutes to the station.
Rooms
Size and bed comfort draw consistent praise; request an upper floor if sensitive to noise.
Cleanliness
A clear strength across recent reviews, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.
Service
Generally helpful and welcoming, with some less positive reports about handling requests.
Amenities
Rooftop restaurant and terrace, buffet breakfast, spa and fitness facilities.
Fees and surprises
Expedia lists gym, spa and parking charges; check breakfast inclusion and wellness access before booking.

  • This page: Hotel The Hive Hotel rates, Rome. Every rate Axel has seen for Hotel The Hive Hotel in Rome in the last 7 days, beside the public rate for the same dates. Sign up free with just your email to book.
  • Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on Hotel The Hive Hotel for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check Hotel The Hive Hotel; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at Hotel The Hive Hotel. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
  • Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
  • If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel Hotel The Hive Hotel rates, Rome" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/rome/hotel-the-hive-hotel-1457689; an address the traveler opens always works.
  • Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages, finish by giving the traveler the public Review or search link now, exactly as written, with every selection preserved; the traveler opens it and books. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, give the traveler’s email when asked, fill the traveler-provided details and reach payment. Pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the checkout link so the traveler signs in with the email code and pays. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
