#3 of 4 hotels in South Meadows by Axel's take. South Meadows is #7 of 7 places to stay in Reno. The best hotels in South Meadows, ranked · Where to stay in Reno

Axel's take: 7.0/10

Generous suites make sense for longer stays, but upkeep and amenities are uneven. a practical 3-star extended-stay hotel in south Reno, scored for what it is.

Sonesta ES Suites Reno is a practical 3-star extended-stay hotel, better for settling in than a downtown casino weekend. We'd consider it for the roomy suites, full kitchens and included breakfast, especially for families or travelers with pets. Expedia guests and Google reviews reproduced on Wanderlog repeatedly praise the space and friendly staff. The south Reno setting suits drivers who want nearby shopping and easy highway access.

The trade-off is consistency: recent guests describe maintenance problems, missing supplies and occasional cleaning lapses alongside many clean, comfortable stays. Parking costs extra despite conflicting wording on the hotel's website. More importantly, Booking.com lists the outdoor pool closed through December 31, 2026, backed by summer guest complaints. We'd skip it for a pool-focused family trip or if reliable upkeep matters more than extra space.

  • Best for: families needing kitchen facilities; longer stays with a car; travelers with pets

  • Watch out for: outdoor pool listed closed through December 31, 2026; uneven maintenance and housekeeping; parking and pet fees

  • Location: South Reno near shopping and highway access; better with a car than for downtown nightlife.

  • Rooms: Spacious kitchen-equipped suites are the draw; guests report some broken fixtures and missing supplies.

  • Cleanliness: Many guests praise clean rooms, but recent cleaning lapses make standards less dependable.

  • Service: Friendly staff earn repeated praise, though check-in and problem resolution can be uneven.

  • Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi, gym and guest laundry; Booking.com lists the outdoor pool closed through December 31, 2026.

  • Fees and surprises: Expect paid parking, pet charges and a refundable damage deposit; the official parking information is contradictory.
