7.9/10
A good downtown casino base, with smoke and slow elevators as the main compromises.
Silver Legacy is a large 4-star casino hotel, not a quiet luxury retreat. It's a strong pick for travelers who want downtown Reno's gambling, restaurants and entertainment close at hand, with indoor connections to Eldorado and Circus Circus. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests regularly praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff; Booking.com guests also highlight cleanliness and location. We'd choose it for a lively casino weekend rather than a hotel-focused getaway.
The compromises are real: cigarette smoke is a recurring complaint, and multiple Tripadvisor guests describe long elevator waits. Room upkeep is uneven, although the overall cleanliness picture remains positive. There's a daily resort fee, and early check-in can incur an additional charge, including at the kiosks. We'd skip it if smoke bothers you or polished, consistently effortless service is the priority.
