#1 of 2 hotels in Midtown by Axel's take. Midtown is #2 of 7 places to stay in Reno. The best hotels in Midtown, ranked · Where to stay in Reno

Axel's take: 9.1/10

An excellent small-motel pick for Midtown exploring, with street noise the main catch. a renovated 2-star boutique motor lodge in Reno’s Midtown, scored for what it is.

Best Bet is a renovated 2-star motor lodge that delivers unusually well on the basics: clean rooms, comfortable beds and welcoming service. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise those strengths, while recent Agoda reviews reinforce the appeal of its walkable Midtown setting. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want nearby restaurants, coffee shops and bars rather than a casino complex. The lobby bar, fire-pit patio and on-site Reno Sauna Club add character without changing its small-motel nature.

The main compromise is noise: traffic and nightlife bother some guests, though others report sleeping comfortably. Standard rooms are compact, and there’s no elevator or on-site restaurant. Parking is limited and charged separately; sauna passes also carry a charge. We’d choose it for a neighborhood-focused Reno visit, but light sleepers and travelers wanting full-service resort facilities should look elsewhere.

  • Best for: couples exploring Midtown; travelers avoiding casino hotels; solo travelers who value walkability

  • Watch out for: traffic and nightlife noise; compact standard rooms; no elevator; limited paid parking and separate sauna passes

  • Location: Walkable Midtown setting near restaurants, coffee shops, bars and independent shops.

  • Rooms: Renovated, thoughtfully decorated rooms with well-liked beds; suites offer more space than compact standard rooms.

  • Cleanliness: Consistently strong guest praise, including recent Expedia reviews.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across guest-review sites.

  • Amenities: Lobby bar, fire-pit patio and paid sauna access; no on-site restaurant, and two accessible rooms are on the ground floor.

  • Fees and surprises: No resort fee; parking, sauna passes and pets cost extra, with pets permitted only in selected rooms.
